Can you install heated/cooled seats on 400a S550?
Im looking to trade my 12' GT for a 16'/17' GT and was wondering if it is possible to buy and install the heated seats from ford?
I would like a premium GT again but all I've seen are almost $40k. I can get a base for near $30k... change out the cloth seats (found the vinyl seats for $300 on ebay as takeoffs) and install the heated/cooled seats if possible. Honestly thats all I care about in the premium package and the seats are not even an option on the base GT. I don't want to pay 5-10k more just for that.
Btw, do the newer 5.0's still have the screwdriver tapping away? I have 87k on my current GT and it has the tap but both trans and engine have not given me one issue since day one.

For the money it would take to convert your seats, you'd be better off buying the premium package. There are generic aftermarket heated seat covers though. Out of luck on the cooling. Makes your butt feel kinda weird anyway. Not that I'm feeling your butt or anything.
I believe it has partial controls through the sync system, so if you want to convert to a factory heated/cooled seat setup, you'll have to change out a whole bunch of stuff. If you're just looking for the effect, with some ugly accessory switches, then I'm sure you can fake it for a few hundred bucks.

To convert regular seats to premium heated/cooled seats it would cost nearly as much as just buying the premium. The premium contains other benefits too so its a better deal imo.
I bought the premium and opted for the recaros losing the heating/cooling of the seats. I looked into getting another set of seats for DDing to convert just as you are asking about. The radio faceplate with the buttons for heating/cooling is nearly $1,000!! Then you have to program your ecu/sync to have the on screen controls as well as the manual buttons. Price of premium seats and reprograming fees from Ford may get close to a premium. It can be done but wont be cheap
