The stock all-season pirelli tires are awful. I have no idea why Ford switched to them for the S550, the previous stock tires for the 2013-2014 were so much better.

I found the Pirellis worked fine in the summer but when the temps dropped they lost a lot of grip. I recently had an embarrassing incident at an intersection.I filled the area with smoke while the Vette next to me drove away. Pretty much any car would have done the same. I since put on some BFG G-force Comp-2. They are a much better tire.
If I could only have a do-over.

Even in the summer, I've found that even with the tiniest bit of dampness on the road left from rain that ended 4 hours prior, the stock A/S tires will slip. My previous 2013 GT never had that problem, I think Ford used Continental GTs on the 2013. I wish I were exaggerating here, but if the road is even slightly darker from dampness, I have to be extremely cautious when moving from a stopped position, I can't just press the gas (and I'm talking normal driving, not trying to blow past someone off the line) but need to get the car rolling first, something I've never experienced before in my previous mustangs.
