local dealer has about a 10% markup, which for them isn't at all uncommon.

Not sure why dealers are so variable. It's not like the old days before the internet, when you had to visit a bunch of dealers. We can see MSRP online and shop dealers on our phone.

some people will pay it just so they can be the first on the block to have one. I think it's all silly; these cars are in mass production so they'll be all over the place within a couple of months.

I agree. I'm waiting on July/August to get serious about a purchase anyway so for now I'm just collecting info.

Went to a new car show today and Ford had a single '15 Ecoboost in Magnetic. The boneheads wouldn't unlock it nor would they open the hood. Meanwhile people were sitting in the Stingray and in the ZR1.

I'll happily wait a few months (or a year or two... bleh) to get a reasonable price.

I also want to watch the boards and see what problems people have with the new ones. Some problems are inevitable ie infamous S197 Water leak etc.

Exactly, that's the beauty of the stang, they are meant to be an affordable performance car - and for the price you get a beast that is reliable as hell, these are couple of the million reasons I love mustangs. But as I always say almost anyone can buy a mustang, but only few can turn their's into a God (the rest make theirs look tacky as hell, or just treat it like **** and then it looks like ****.)

You can get a whale of a deal on a '14 right now and 0% for 72 months on top of that. I saw a GT prem for 30k.

If Ford offers a decent interest rate for the outgoing '15s I'm on board for sure.

I have been trying to find a 2014 GT Prem around central Texas....no luck - at least not with my required features.

Here in Dallas they used have about $5000 discount on the sticker price for the 2013 and 2014 models. They used list the cars with the discount applied in their websites. Now I see hardly a $2000 discount. I guess it is better to wait for a while. May be next year.

While it is a much better car compared to the outgoing model I am not sure if it is worth the sticker price.

Apparently some dealers around Austin are charging more than MSRP, but Covert Ford told me they will accept the X Plan without making too much fuss.
