LOL! You took the words right out of my mouth. I'm no road racer, we don't even have curves in florida, so I don't really care who's faster around a track. The camaro z28 is still a couple hundred lbs heavier than that shelby, so it's not surprising to me. the Chevy lovers are all ready call foul though because of rain.

I've made it clear that i don't care for the new mustang design, but that 350gt still looks much better than the new camaro.

Given time, the GT350 and GT350R will also be run on other tracks such as VIR, Willow, etc. and track times for the 1LE and Z/28 will also fall below GT350/350R times.

Right now, the Camaro guys are crying fowl of the GT350R Nurburgring because the GT350R ran on dry roads and the Z/28 ran in the "rain."
The fallacy: the rain when the Z/28 ran was negligible and comparable to only drizzle.
Actually, Chevy probably ran just before the rain started to take advantage of the still completely pavement.

In this vid of that purported "rainy day," there was absolutely no standing water on the track and no precipitation even coming down.
Otherwise, on the shots of the tires, you would have seen water, even tiny droplets, spraying up from the tire treads hitting the side-mounted camera.
At the speeds the Z/28 was running, more than enough drizzle droplets would have pooled together and you would have seen drops starting to form on the windshield.
And if the drops were so small that they would have evaporated off from the Z/28 moving so fast, more of these tiny drops would have still appeared on the windshield before they would have evaporated. Enough so that you would have seen it in this vid.

As for competition, I'm all for it because Chevy and Ford have been at it for years, and despite us being Ford fans, we and Chevy fans come out as winners because the rivalry causes both companies to push each other to out-do each other we we the car fans get better and better cars given to us.

Well I just watched and at about 6:08.20 as he comes past a stand of trees on the left, you can see some very light droplets on the drivers side windshield, and it does seam to continue even getting a little stronger for the rest of the run.
So for about the last minute he was having to deal with increased slipperiness, so it could be theorized that he added several seconds to his time, but I'm still thinking the GT350R would best the Z28 on the track.
Side note the passenger side wiper was almost useless, and was he driving an auto cause his hand seamed to be on the wheel when the car was shifting gears.

Yeah, I saw that too, and yes, I could see how a couple of seconds could have been added to his total time.

But I agree, a couple of seconds might have been shaved; I guess this because the last minute in the rain was all on almost all straights and when he had to actually turn on the wipers while he was still in the turns, the pavement had not significantly become wet enough for slipperiness yet.
His wheels didnt thrown up spray until he had past those turns and was already in the mostly straights.

Default Good times on the ring

Well being new round these parts, I guess ring talk is not common. I do not know as to the veracity of the film or claims, but anything under 8 is an outstanding time. I personally have 47 , laps on the Nordschliefe in a variety of autos, and my best lap is 13:87 in an E46.

If this is a true claim then that is an awesome time. Here is a quick list of times pulled from wiki.
