Mine has a sub in the trunk, and while nice, it's not a very loud system. The sub is definitely underwhelming as it's only 8". The old Mach 1000 system was much better. Looks like Ford is cheaping out on the sound.

Nah this blows my 2001 w/mach 1000 away, as well as my previous 2013.
Maybe the 16s have different/more speakers than the 15s, though...?

The Shaker in my 2016 sounds great, but they're pumping too much bass through the in-car speakers rather than using the sub. They seriously need to put a cross-over in there!

The shaker 500 in my 2005 sounds much better than the wife's shaker in her 2014.

I'm new to MF and just got the 16 Stang with standard audio. No sub and the bass IS poor on non-rap songs. I've adjusted the tone but it still sounds tinny. Any suggestions on a good sub or amp to create a fuller sound?

I got the premium sound on my 15, it sounds like crap compared to the shaker 500 that was in my 13, just added a sub. I changed everything out on my 15, tried a few different door speakers, settled on Kappa Perfects, sounds great now. One 12" Dayton HO, all on a Helix processor.

Has anyone played with installing a different sub in the factory sub box that comes standard in the premium package S550s? I track my ecoboost a couple times/year so it needs to be very secure, use it as a daily and need the trunk space for things such as transporting a surf board (7'6" fits with rear seats down and passenger front pushed up!) so taking out a typical sub box every few days isn't ideal.
