I am new to forum and tried the search tool but didn't get anything. Just bought my daughter a 2016 eco boost premium yesterday. It has the Sync 3 with large touch screen but doesn't have the Navigation. Does anyone know if that can be added? Do not want aftermarket, I want to add the ford Nav to the existing system. I know it was a $795.00 option from the factory, why they wouldn't have put that in there when they built it I have no idea.

Any help would be appreciated.

you would think it was just software, but you would need the GPS antenna. I'm not sure if they include that with all Sync 3's just in case. Best to call your dealer and ask....

if she has a smartphone I think CarPlay and Android Auto support is on the way. in which case she could just use the phone's navigation app.

Congrats to your daughter; you are one awesome parent!

Unfortunately, navigation cannot be added after a vehicle has left the factory, but like jz78817 stated, CarPlay and Android Auto are coming to SYNC 3 equipped vehicles by the end of this year.

you get the map and turn-by-turn on the screen.

I would think as of now, you can bluetooth your phone and run the maps on your phone and get the turn by turn audio through the car speakers. I do that in my DD Kia

jz78817 is correct. CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and put them right on your car’s built-in display.
