2016 Mustang GT vs EB, which one to buy?
Hi everyone i am new here and i want your help!
Am planning to buy a Mustang but can't decided which one, the V6 is out of the question i am torn between the Ecoboost and the GT.
I daily drive 100km or 62 mile to work (200km round trip) in the highway so i want my next car to be a daily car but i don't want to fill up the tank every 2 days so it should have a good MPG.
Currently i drive 2013 Ford Taurus Limited with average MPG of 22 or 11 l/100km and honestly i am annoyed by the frequency of filling the tank over spending the money.
The Ecoboost sounds to fit my requirement but as a Mustang fan i am afraid am going to miss the growling sound of the V8 and regret buying the EB
I really love the iconic sound of the V8 but the trade off in my situation making me hesitant to buy it and pushing me toward the EB. the EPA rating for the EB and the GT are 25 MPG or 9 l/100km and 19 MPG or 12 l/100km.
As you can see there is a big difference in the fuel economy also is the V8 a good daily driver car? i need your opinion and experince to help me out finalize my decision.
Background info:
I live in Oman (Arab Gulf Country)
No modification are allowed on new cars otherwise i would void the warranty
The cost of filling the Taurus tank is $28.5
I want a sport car for daily use and good fuel economy

On the V8, you're going to be burning approximately 5-6 gallons of gas per day with a 124 mile round on the highway (assumed 21-23 mpg) - you'd need to fill your tank every 2.5 trips.
If it were me, I'd go Ecoboost. Go test drive one and see what you think.

In reality, when ecoboost engines are driven properly, ie with enthusiasm, they barely get any better gas mileage than no turbo engines of similar power. Just cruising, you will see better mileage, but overall, you might see 2 mpg. They have to work harder to produce the same results. Get the GT without the performance pack for a taller gear and you will be happier with the sound of the V8.

i daily drive a 15 GT premium with about 70/30 street to highway. Some spirited driving when traffic permits, and I'm averaging about 17.1 mpg. Been steady on that number for over 2 months, so I'll take it as my average. That's with about a 5-10 minute warmup (idle) in the mornings and afternoons before and after work. That idle time eats away at your mpg averages, so it's not too bad. I range about 256 miles on a single tank of gas, though these small tanks make it seem like I'm filling up every few days. I used to drive a 95 Bronco XLT sport with a behemoth gas tank, so I guess it's a fair trade off.
