I'm fairly certain they are different sizes from the base V6 and Ecoboost. Here is an excerpt from an Automobile magazine artice about the differences. There are three brake packages available, depending on model and equipment. The first is for the standard Mustang V-6 and Mustang EcoBoost, and includes 12.6 in rotors front and rear; two-piston, floating calipers in front; and single-piston calipers in the rear. Mustang EcoBoost models with the Performance Pack and standard Mustang GT models are upgraded to four-piston fixed calipers in front; single-piston calipers in the rear; and 13.9 in rotors in front and 13 in rotors in the rear. The range-topping Mustang GT with the Performance Pack has six-piston Brembo calipers front; single-piston calipers rear; and 15 in rotors up front and 13 in rotors in the rear. Here is the link to the article.

Would it be better to change to the GT brakes or change the pads and rotors?

How much should I be looking to spend on GT brake take offs approx?

I have upgraded to 19 inch rims and have 18 inch rims as back ups.

So I purchased some take offs from a GT for about $300.

Are the rear brakes the same on the V6 and GT.

No your rear brakes are 12.6 while the GTs ar 13. I wouldn't worry about the backs. The rear brakes handle very little of the braking duty. It wouldn't be worth the expense. Check out mustang6G for sale section. They are selling GT brakes in there all the time.
