It runs a 12.0 1/4 at about 116.94. 0-60 seems to be a 3.9. This is from LMR running the stock automatic GT w/performance pack (level 1).
It’s right around M3/M4 numbers, which is crazy considering the price difference. The only things, in my personal opinion, that are missing from this beast are a flat bottom steering wheel (like the GT350s) and a true HUD... I also wouldn’t mind a 360 camera but that’s me.

Oh, and Ford... let me get the alcantara/carbon fiber pack with the digital gauges! It’s the only reason I’m holding off for 2019 info - to see if they fix this.

You know, thinking about it, I get why Ford has drastically underrated the new motor - its actual hp number is very close to the GT350 - maybe Ford doesn’t want the average non-car person, who bases everything on hp numbers, thinking that there’s little difference between the two...? I dunno. It’s just insanely underrated and it boggles my mind

That is an interesting view on it. I doubt the two cars are that close though. I am guessing they underrated it so that it looks better against the Camaro and Challenger, as those cars have V8s that are rated either 5 or 30hp more.

I'm sure someone will put the GT350 and the '18 GT against each other in a straight line, both in manual trim, and see how they compare.

I’m unsure what you mean in regards to the Camaro/Challenger - you think Ford wants people to think their car has less hp but still beats them on a 0-60 and 1/4?
Complete guess, but the MT GT will likely match or beat the GT350 in a straight line on both the 0-60 and 1/4 since, if I recall correctly, Ford put a new manual in for the 2018s (could be wrong?). Afterall, they’re only ~10hp apart apparently. On a track, the GT350 will still be champ, though.

Yeah. Maybe they did underrate so the GT350 has a bigger hp gap on paper, although I don't know how much those put down (and what they are really putting out vs the rating). The ratings for the Camaro and Challenger might also be on the lower side too, so who knows why they did it. Maybe insurance?

Hmmm... according to a quick google search a stock GT350 seems to put down roughly 467hp to the wheels. I’m unsure if the flat plane crank provides a smaller loss in the drivetrain or if the GT350 is also ridiculously underrated as well...?

Just test drove a 2018 GT Premium w/10-speed auto, Red Crimson color (Ruby Red replacement - it’s actually a little different, little darker/more of a burgundy now). Did not have the PP or magnaride unfortunately, but it had the sport exhaust and digital gauges.
Oh man, the gauges are just fantastic, they aren’t as nice/responsive as Audi’s virtual cockpit but they are colorful and clear. The new steering wheel is a thousand times better than the awful quality one in the 2015-2017s, with thicker/higher-quality leather and better bolstering. The exhaust is just ridiculous - it’s incredibly better sounding than my 2016 GT. I only tried normal mode, which already sounded great and better than mine, then track mode which is the loudest. It sounded like a straight pipe exhaust setup. The videos on YouTube don’t even begin to do it justice. I didn’t get much time with it unfortunately, the dealer is going to call me when they get one with the magnaride as well as a GT Convertible as I keep going back and forth on which I want, then I’m going to build and order one in March/April.

Test drove another today, this one had the PP but still no magnaride. Car feels a lot smoother, like it’s putting the power down better, with the PP. definitely a must have. Still need to drive one with magneride as well as a convertible so I can decide what I want

The new FOB is a million times better feeling and higher quality too:

New one is on top, bottom is for my 2016.

I am seriously considering the 2018 GT in either base or premium with the 18" mag wheel upgrade for my daily driving.

Now, I test drove a 2015 standard tranny with Performance Pack, and I gotta say, it was super tight, but the ride quality was not enjoyable for me. It wasn't too bad cruising on the highway, but very rough and noisy on side roads.

What I really want to know is how much better is the 2018 ride quality to begin with, with also having the 18" wheels on the base model? Smoothness, cabin noise, etc?

18” wheels are the standard wheels, 19” and 20” are the upgraded ones. Non-performance pack Mustangs will have a softer suspension. I noticed that the 2018 Mustang GT w/PP actually didn’t feel rough, not to me at least, I currently have a 2016 GT no PP. The magneride susposedly makes a huge difference as well but I haven’t been able to test drive one with it yet. Ride quality is subjective of course, the only way to know if you like it is to try one yourself - I’d try and find dealers with and without PP GTs and possibly mageride equipped Mustangs to try.
