Ok, the only reason I would consider getting the 301A package on a new GT is because the 301A stereo has Synch-3 with 3 additional mid range speakers. I think the wattage rating is the same as the base stereo though.

My question, is getting the 301A just for the extra speakers really worth it? Does it sound that much better?

Or, if I was to get a nice aftermarket stereo for $500 with the base model 6 speaker setup, would it sound just as good?

Sync 3 alone is a reason to get 301A not to mention all the other benefits. I think the stock radio sounds just fine but then I don't play it so loud that I can't hear the beautiful sound of my engine or heaven forbid, a siren.
