Default Ford screwing me out of a warranty claim

,I have a 2017 EcoBoost vert with ~7000 miles.

About a month ago I noticed a couple of small tears in the inside top headliner where the C pillar would be on a hardtop. What has happened is there is a plastic formed piece, that has plastic push clips, that clip onto the roof rail frame. Well this piece is missing and because of that the roof when folded hits the tabs where the plastic piece should be attached. It is tucked up and out of the way so unless you were looking for the piece to be missing you would never know.

Took it to the dealer and Ford declined warranty repair due to improper maintenance and abuse.

Seriously, a brand new car!

Abuse... now's the time to talk to the shop manager and point out the missing piece. It's important to NOT lose your cool...just be professional, state you haven't modified the car in any way and haven't removed any pieces.

Losing your cool and they'll just tune you out.... hard to do at times though!

Done that... said there was nothing they could do and had me call Ford "Customer Care". That was a complete joke.

That seems to be a rash. I bought a '15 Jetta TSI, and there were issues with it that
I pointed out. There were two broken tail light assemblies, and one was missing a piece.
They said they'd replace the tails, but had to wait for a Donor car to come through to
pull them from to put these on it. I kept after them on it, and when I pushed the issue they
told me I broke them when I put LEDs in. Yet, I showed them well before the LEDs
were put in. I bought three cars from these people, never again.

Well I fixed the car myself. And Ford can eat a DICK!

I am sure it will not hurt them any but no one in my family will ever buy another Ford.

Just as I won't buy another Volkswagen... The dealer ruined it for me, and VW didn't care.
They stepped in once before, and I got what was due, but I think they know that dealership
is one of their slums...
