the Coyote Tick, dealer explanation...
I own a 2017 gt PP with 10K miles which had developed that dreadful ticking noise. Mine is most audible on the driver side towards the back of the engine. less audible when car is warmed up, but still there. Anyway, no performance issues. I wanted to share my experience at the dealer here in Austin TX.
After not having the car for a week they explained the noise as "NO PROBLEM FOUND, VERIFIED RATTLE NOISE. REMOVED STARTER AND TRACED NOISE TO CLUTCH AREA.SOME EXPECTED SLACK IN CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING WILL CAUSE A RATTLE IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE MUSTANG. NO REPAIRS RECOMMENDED AT THIS TIME".
I was disappointed with them not wanting to fix it, Im gonna have to wait till it gets worse. However, relieved to know it was not the engine. When I press the clutch in the noise seems to go away. So I know it is connected in someway. Cant believe this sh$t. Car is so new.
~ Hope this helps
