Default Need some reassurance I made the right move

I know its kinda stupid asking this question here...but I wanted some real answers. Also should have asked this first...but I kinda got blinded by the test drive so to speak.

--------------

I'm a very indecisive person, my wife can attest. I am coming from a 2016 Subaru WRX STi running stage 2. I purchased a 2015 automatic Mustang GT to replace it, I was kinda tired of driving stick as its cumbersome for me.

My concerns:
The stage 2 STi was faster than the Mustang stock.
Can I get better performance out of the mustang than I could have the STi?
Should I take the car back and go another route?

THANK YOU.

I appreciate the honesty, but can I get some help on the various points? Mainly because I wanna know what upgrades I have.

What does 'Stage 2' entail?

Are you talking about a COBB Stage II tune? If so, your Mustang GT should be about as fast/faster at stock. 1/4 time for a stock S550 GT is ~12.8 and 0-60 is 4.5. I'm reading high 12 1/4s for an STI with a COB Stage II tune with no other mods. (Unless, of course, the forums I found are full of crap )
A simple tune (don't bother with a CAI) usually puts peoples 1/4 times down to ~12.2-12.3 with an auto running in sports/race mode on the 2015-2017 GTs and low 4s for the 0-60.

EDIT: I also recommend getting rid of the craptastic P Zero Nero tires immediately if you have the stock A/S tires.

Get a Lund Flex fuel tune and a pair of headers. Car will be night and day. Should be way faster than the WRX.

Definitely take the Mustang back and see if you can trade it for a 2016 STi (w/ stage II upgrades).

Mustangs are pretty much as fast as they can be from the factory.
