I've been told a few different things so I figured I'd come here and find out, my friend has a set of gt500 reps from a 2003 car and says they are for that car, my question is will they fit my car (16 GT) and if they are different will they just look horrible or have you guys seen this done before? Thanks in advance

they should fit without any real issue. If they are GT500 rims then they probably have the offset for the 2005+ cars anyway

The S550 has a different offset from the S197 platform (2005-14), which is also different from the 2003. The pattern is the same, but the offset/backspace is different.
