Do all 2018's have active exhaust?
Is active exhaust just an option in 2018 or do all mustangs have it?
Does active exhaust mean you don't\cant upgrade the exhaust system with borla, corsa, roush, etc?
Is there any need to upgrade the exhaust if you have active exhaust?

1 ) No, not all have it, it was an option.
2 ) You can do some upgrades (h- and x-pipes, for example), but replacing the mufflers would seem silly.
3 ) Some people will upgrade anything. Some people do the crosspipes to make things louder or change the tone. Others won't move from stock. YMMV.

All GT's now come with quad tip exhaust (two outlets per side) vs the previous dual outlets (one per side)
Any need to upgrade? Totally up to you but the upgrades for the active exhaust are more expensive if you plan on keeping the feature, otherswise why bother buying active exhaust if you're going to can it and use a regular exhaust upgrade?

FWIW, I can find nowhere in Ford's marketing and informational materials for the Bullitt (the order guide, the brochure, the website, etc.) where there is any mention of the Bullitt having any difference in the exhaust with the exception of black tips off the muffler. Zilch. They talk about all sorts of Bullitt exclusive features (intake, red brakes, black tips, etc.) but never say a word about any differences in the exhaust itself. Makes one wonder if there is any difference at all.

Active exhaust is standard on the Bullitt. There's some discussion concerning how much of the Bullitt's exhaust tone difference from a GT also equipped with AE is a function of the synthetic engine sound pushed through the Bullitt's speakers versus the intake hiss piped into the GT via the sound tube connected to the intake.
