GT350 - Daily Driver
Is anyone here using a GT350 as their daily driver? I'm strongly considering picking up a 2019 and want to use it as my daily driver, however I'd like to get some first hand opinions if possible. My drive is 27 miles each way, about 24 of it is Houston area highways. In the morning I basically set my cruise at 70 and have little to no traffic. In the evening it's a crap shoot, some days it's stop and go and other days it flows with no issues. I did the commute for about 4 years in my 2008 GT which was supercharged and had the Saleen Racecraft suspension and the ride was stiff, but it was not too bad.
The key thing though is that I don't want to get bounced around like a pinball. Now that I'm older I want a little more comfort but I sure do love the sound and 'exclusivity' of the GT350... plus they look incredible. So ultimately, I'm trying to decide if a run of the mill GT Premium is a better choice (better fuel mileage, lower insurance costs, active exhaust, more comfortable?)... but I've driven my buddies GT350 around a few times, but that's just in and around our 'hood and only for short 5-10 miles at a time. But the sound and feeling of the car got me hooked...

Other than the gas mileage it really isn't all that bad IMO. But then you don't buy this car worrying about mileage. The car is awesome, great sound, great power and unbelievable pull from 4-5K RPM on. Be sure to buy a case of oil from the Ford dealer because you will add at least a quart between oil changes. The harder you drive it, the more oil. Price of doing business with a high strung motor. Leave it in the standard mode for daily driving, the track mode will get old real fast unless you are on smooth roads.

Keep in mind the GT350 (R and non-R(?)) have aluminum pistons so, they are known for piston slap (rattle) while they warm up. This is considered normal for just about any aluminum based piston engine due to expansion that takes place the first minute or two upon a cold startup...
