Programming new fob with only one existing Fob?
Hey folks,
I just picked up my second s550 Mustang convertible (last one got totaled after I was rear ended only 3 1/2 months into owning it). This one that I just signed the paperwork on only has one fob, however, I have another fob from my old car. I've seen the instructions on how to program a fob, but it says you have to have both original fobs in the car when you do it... Anybody tried this with one existing fob, or know how to program another one if I only have one fob? Trying to avoid paying a whole bunch of money at the dealer...
Thanks,
Alex

Ford says:
Put the unprogrammed key fob into the center console pocket.
Press the driver or passenger unlock control 3 times.
Press the brake pedal once.
Press the driver or passenger unlock control 3 times.
Press the brake pedal once.
The Start/Stop button should begin to flash rapidly.
Within 1 minute, press the Start/Stop button.
A message should display that the key was programmed.
Remove the keyfob from the center console pocket, and press UNLOCK on it to exit program mode.
Verify functionality of the keyfob.
That is from FORD.

Pretty sure these instructions are different from others I've read. Since those didn't work, I'm betting these will. How many will the 550s support? Mine came with only one; I bought one at the dealer (OUCH!), then another off eBay. The eBay unit wouldn't cooperate, so I paid the dealer another programming charge. Now I have three, but I'd still like one to put in the safe.
