my demon gets to 115 or so in third gear with quite a bit of rpms left, but im only running a 3.23 gear...most people have bigger gears than do i.

here it is...my shift light came on RIGHT as i took this picture, and at the time it was set to 4000...the cam is rated "peak" up to 6500, i believe, so i had room to go. its not a smooth ride at 120, even with some aftermarket suspension stuff.

i really dont think that you have anything to worry about unless you suck at driving...

I just asked my friend with the '74 who ran at bandimere last year. May 21, 2008.

15.0@92.6mph
13.296 @ 103.866mph corrected (DA)
'60 was 2.27.

He has a 3spd auto. 3.91 gears. Headers, 4bbl, and cam. Had on 195/75/R14 street tires.

This isn't from bandimere but it is a vid of him up against one of the newer challengers.

thats pretty solid...i have to say that as someone who has ALWAYS run right around 1300-1500 feet, ive not felt the effects of elevation like that, so i dont put a word of faith into conversions...but if he could get a 13.2 out of a 318 dart, id be impressed...only because ive seen a great many 318 cars run, and that would be pretty quick for just headers, intake/carb, and a cam...and 3.91s.

but, if that was an srt8 auto, him nipping it at the end would make sense, as ive seen them 13.4s...
