Meh, the LS3 is a boss of an engine; the rest of the car seems pretty well built(except for a few small launch problems,) but, it's hard to make a 2 ton car fast. :P

I mean, Car and Driver was able to get like a 13.0-13.1 on it stock. If you knock off a couple tenths because Magazines are usually slow, it seems like it can clock in at 12.8-12.9 stock. I wish a 430 HP engine could run a little faster.

reply to 1morepart. Not necessarily. A non-HO vortech kit is ~$3700. Or ~$4700 installed and that's good for 400whp on a stock 3V, more than enough to completely smoke a new maro.

With a few suspension/tire mods good for low 12's.

My car when it was full bolt ons ran against srt's which were 425 h.p. and I always got them by 1 1/2 to 2 car lengths. 4.10 gears, intake and tune, will get you where it will be a race. Aluminum driveshaft, udp's or electric water pump, headers, and some suspension mods will get you where they'll have to start modding. I was running right at 309 rwhp with my full bolt ons, I think that equates to 363 at the motor. With a blower it ain't even close.

Your Dad's stock Mustang GT can possibly beat his friend's stock Camaro V8 if your Dad has a good driver mod and his friend doesn't:

However, if the driver mods are reversed or they both have good driver mods, then your Dad's Stang will need some performance mods:

Eh, when racing(Bench Racing especially) assume both racers are John Force unless otherwise mentioned.

Totally agree. However, in this specific case, the OP's Dad may have some insight into his opponent's driving skills since they are friends. Hence, the reference to the bad driver mod video.

lets say that my dad knows his way around a track pretty good; his friend probably not as much.
