Default 05-2010 mustang vs 04-06 gto

i am gonna be in the market to buy a car late next year if i can pay off all my bills and such. these 2 cars are the ones on my list price out the window tell me why the mustang is a better buy. and the pros and cons of each if you have driven them both. whatever car i get must me a manual. i will use it on the weekends and maybe for auto crossing drag racing ( maybe from light to light) but it will remain comfortable to drive me and te wife to church on sundays.

Have you seen a modern gto? (rehtorical question) Looks like a bar of soap to me. Great motor and all but still, you have to look at it from time to time.

I was in the market for a GTO before I bought my new 09 GT. The only edge that the GTO has is the beefier motor, and can go faster in a straight line. But, it weighs a bit more. Overall, I like the Mustang more. Handling is farrrrrr superior out of the box and is quite a bit more comfortable. The mustang sheet metal has quite a bit better fitment to it as far as gaps and panel meeting points.

And this is coming from a DIE HARD Chevy guy. I'm quite impressed with my new pony.

04-06 GTOs look gay, retarded Sunfire......lol powertrain is overrated , to me the only contender to the Mustang is the new Camaro SS, and the S197 is still lighter, cheaper and better looking !!

Get a 2009 for cheap as possible and have fun !!!! lol

presonal opinion here, but i think it's the other way around. the Mustang seemed a little too cramped for me, even the 2010's (i'm only 6'2" 200lbs). the GTO seems to be a little more comfortable.

and i don't know about FAR superior for handling, unless you're talking a '10 with the Track Pack.

just my opinion though

I haven't met anyone who likes the look of the last GTOs, nor have I read any reviews stating as such, I liken it to the sports car version of the AZTEK !! lol

5.7 version gets owned at my 1/4 mile track, 6.0 is only slightly faster than my N/A S197and on paper it should smoke me, so that's why I think the powertrain is overrated for this particular vehicle, you can't polish a turd.. IMHO
