98 V6 Stang vs 91 SHO
#11
A lot of people do that.. go by what a car looks like. I think thats why a lot of people get kind of surprised when a GTO or other subtle looking cars put bus lengths on them. Might want to talk your buddy out of betting his money and just race for fun. If he understands 1/4 mile times, you could pull some up for him to see, maybe that'll help convince him. The older SHO is about a full second faster in the 1/4, thats a pretty wide gap.

Probably not, I know the type of kid. I had 6 kids in my high school get Mustangs. 4 SN-95's, 2 new edges and all of them ended up totaled before that all started bragging about how fast they were....all stock all auto's.

oh christ, not another one of those kinda guys...... i work with a kid that is the same way. he has a legacy gt and thinks its a turbo powered fighter jet..... all he wanted to do was race me cause he thinks a stock s197 is slow but yet he ignores imporant numbers like hp ratings and curb weights haha... meen while he would be lucky to get into the mid 14's with it..... sounds like you should give your bud a schoolin in part mechanics part physics and save him some money.....

I used to have a SHO. They have 220 hp and like 215 ft-lbs of torque. That is a 70 horsepower advantage over the mustang. When I had it I utterly destroyed a single port sixxer on the highway. At higher speeds the DOHC breathes a lot better than the OHV mustang.
