....yeah, weight's not going to make much of a difference here IMO. The bigger challenge for that guy will be hooking up.

You got that right. Theres only about a 300 pound difference to begin with the two. The GTO should have around a 100WHP advantage.

I couldn't hook my 04 GTO better than a 2.0 60' on street rubber, and all I had was LTs, catback, tune, and an intake. It was an automatic btw. It made 340 or 350 at the wheels, I can't remember exactly. It ran a 12.8 at something like 109 on a 1.8 60' (drag radials). Sooo, considering the GTO you're talking about is an a whole other league.... imo he will indeed put a hurting on you. If he keeps his cool and takes his time on the launch, you may not even stay even with him past 1st gear. From a roll, it won't even be a contest (unless he spins). He should flat walk away from a roll, but hey, crazier things have happened and not everyone knows how to drive. No shame in losing to him though, he has a good bit of money sunk into that GTO. Good luck man!

You are way overestimating the weight difference. There's only a 300, maybe 400 pound difference. Also, consider his powerband. While your reving the hell out of yours trying to make that 350rwhp, he's going to already be pulling away.

When is this going down? Any chance of a vid?
