Default Powder Puff Racing

The dragway near me is having a powder puff division for the female racers. I would like to try it out, but I have never ever been on a dragstrip (racing). What would be better for me to take, trying to learn? The automatic? Or go straight to the standard and try to get better at it?

auto will be simpler and less to think about as you run the 1/4

stick will have a steeper learning curve but in the end will make you a better driver. Auto.... pretty straight forward. Ultimately its your call. I don't think you'd go wrong either way but if your worried: AUTO

PS: So you have 3 cars?! WHAT!! A GT, cobra and GT500?? So whats the Gt an auto and other 2 are stick?

I am getting much better at shifting the standard since I bought a daily driver that is a manual. (toyota)

The gt is the slushy

Yes, I really would like to learn. I'd love to have someone to go with me and show me the ropes, but that seems to be asking too much with my luck. (grrrrrrrrrrr--)

I guess I just need to get up the courage and go. Yesterday was rained out here...so I at least have an excuse.

I know how to drive the standards. My car base is now 75% standard transmission.

I would think there would be tips and techniques I need to learn? Staging, reaction times, etc? No?
