Default Stock 4.6 GT vs. Stock Chrysler 300

Hey guys. A buddy of mine has a Stock Chrysler 300, 5.7L V8. I read up how it has 340 HP, but then again, is also a heavy beast.

He wants to do a friendly run, and thinks it will easily take my Mustang. I'm all for it, but it's all about the time and place. (He loves the Mustang, and owned a 92 Fox I believe)

So how will my Mustang fair against the 300? I own a completely stock 2006 Mustang GT, 5 speed with stock 17" rims, Goodyear tires. His 300C is stock but has aftermarket 22" rims.

I would guess it will be fairly close with the edge going to the mustang. Especially from a dig you'll have an advantage. Not sure what the lb./hp ratio breaks down to on the 340hp models vs. the 300hp GT but the extra weight pretty much cancels out that 40hp advantage.

Those wheels will slow him down a lot, unless they are super lightweight.

I'm guessing the Fysler is going to want a roll "race".

The Chrysler should get slaughtered if you drive right.

I have a 6 and just the other day(Friday) I was coming off an entrance ramp to the local beltway(495 for those familiar) I was behind a 90-91 convertible 350z that wanted to run, and thought he could take me, I stuck with him and had to slam on my brakes not to hit him, well he either pussed out or thought I had more! Anyways I merged quickly to the left lane(4 lanes) here comes a chrysler 300 riding my bumper, I'm in 4th rolling at 65-70 mph(in the sweet spot of the rpm curve) I punch the pedal and leave him behind! He decided to take the same exit as me and I'm doing 65 on the ramp and as I merge I take it to 90(pretty F ing stupid in this area) but it is what it is! He was into it as well but for every time he would get close I would floor it and leave him well behind! I then decided to slow to 5 below the speed limit and he wanted nothing to do with me, just stayed back! When I got home I looked up the hp of a chrysler 300 and benefit of the doubt had 250 hp because I saw now hemi badges! Made me feel good even though it was stupid to go that fast in a 55! You with a 4.6 will spank that
