+1.. My old Auto LT1 snapped the rearend with just a CAI on it.

Rumor is a few guys have run 10s on stock 10 bolts... how many passes I have no idea..but it's been done as they say.

Go race a stock Civic in your car and then you'll see what the result will look like from his perspective.

you need more gear imo... there is a guy in my area set up like yours he has 4.10s only becasue he sprays the house down... here is a vid of it against a bolt-on/gear 96 cobra and a cam, bolt-on, gear trans am lots of gear misses on all 3 cars but you get the picture car is pretty quick on motor...

That's surprising. Usually it's the autos that make the 10-bolt last longer, because it's less of a shock on the rear than dumping the clutch.

All my local guys are telling him to switch it out..and he can sell it for some cash cuz its only got 22k miles on the whole car.
Putting gears in a 10-bolt never really works out. They will usually be alright on stock gears though, for a little while. A buddy of mine decided to throw some Nitto DR's on his bolt-on LS1 SS with 4.10's though. And it only took him about 3 street races before there were no teeth on the ring or pinion anymore. lol

I ran 3.73s in my old 10 bolt behind a 4k stall for about a year. I was running street tires, but it still pulled sub 1.8 60s and took a beating at the track. However, the street tires still allowed for some "give" in the drivetrain. You can strengthen the 10 bolt and make it pretty strong. I ended up having my axle tubes welded to the diff, doing a TA cover, and a torque arm that ran from the bottom of the center part of the diff up to a crossmember just under the trans. Anyway, had I of been running a good set of DRs or slicks and fully utilized the 4k stall, there's a very high possibility that 10 bolt (before supported) would've let go.
