Default 2002 T/A what will she do ya think??

Ok so my dad has been convinced to go ahead and buy a 12 bolt rear end and put a set of 4.10s in.

Wanting to know what kinda time you think she could pull out.

Mods:

A.I ported 243 heads
Comp 228/2230 cam
LS6 intake
Full exhaust w/ cutout
Full suspension
B&M "ripper" shifter

And also the 12 bolt w/ 4.10s.

H.P numbers are in sig (mustang dyno btw) can post dyno sheet if ppl wanna see where it makes power.

Predictions?

GO!! lol

tire setup?

launch RPM ideas?

on slicks and skinnies and a 5K launch it's getting lost in the deep 11's somewhere IMO

too many variables to say what it will run on stock width street tires... should be low 12's - high 11's struggling for traction

Umm i mean right now its not a track car...so it will be the Goodyear Eagle F1 tires...

So rpms would be low...almost baby it out of the hole...

Im wonderin if it had the slicks/skinnies. The car at its full potential

Low 12s on street tires, imo. Mid-low 11s on slicks+skinnies. If you leave off idle, there's a 1.7 60' in that car with your full suspension on street tires. With slicks and proper weight transfer, traction between gears, and the reduced 60', there will be a massive difference in the overall ET. I would go so far as to say there will be nearly a full second difference between slicks and street tires with said mods.

Yea thats what i was thinking...the only reason we haven't taken it is because of the weak a** ten bolt rear its got right now.

My buddy went 12.6 @ 110.xx 1.89 60ft w/ his full exhaust/tune/DRs/LCAs/CAI/6speed SS Camaro so i kinda have that to guage it off of.

The 10-bolt's nothin to worry about. Mine gets lots of abuse, and I'm probably making around the same power as your dad's, since mine's untuned at the moment. Course, it also hasn't seen the drag strip yet. So, that could be a whole different story. lol

You mean he's swapping the rearend before it's broke? That's not the way to do it. Mine took many a 1.6 short time.

Well he just doesn't wanna risk it...he'd rather just get it done so he KNOWS it won't break. Thats all...and he really wants 4.10s and i don't think 4.10s+450ish hp= 10 bolt holding.

All my local guys are telling him to switch it out..and he can sell it for some cash cuz its only got 22k miles on the whole car.

Ten bolts are hit and miss. Some will hold good power/hard launches for years, some break right off the bat. If he's got the funds to swap it, might as well get it done.
