2011 Camaro SS vs 2001 Camaro Z28
Well.. haven't done one in a while and figured I could use it as an update thread as well.
Co-Worker just picked up a new Camaro SS M6... I expect some smack talk to occur.. and I have no doubt we will be running them sooner or later.
My Co-Worker is 300+lbs vs 155lbs and has no racing experience as far as I know. Last time he drove a manual was 10 years ago as well I believe so I am confident I will win out with those things considered.. what do you guys think? Driver to driver? I haven't been following them at all... so I figured I would toss one up in the air for you guys.

Now for my update...
Been hit or miss on the forums lately.. car has been kicking me P0327/P0332 errors (knock sensor codes) and I replaced sensors, the harness, etc all to no avail... since it was below 0 for a while and snowing I just limped the car along (runs off low octane tables and retards spark advance). Pulled it apart over the weekend (finally hit 60s here) and discovered the rear knock sensor was broken

Got everything back together and finally feeling good about the car again. Winter + hurt car = meh for most of the year.
Hope to catch our track rental at the begining of May and finally get some better ets.

Well.. just rode with him and drove it.. about what I expected... completely different than my 01.. the weight is definately a mood killer. Rides pretty smooth, power is great, comfortable, etc but still not a car I want to own (too many things I don't care for).
This race probably won't happen any time soon... he needs to learn to drive it first.. right now it wouldn't be fair at all... he is still nearly stalling it on take off and isn't very good at shifting.

That's pretty much my take exactly... I do have a lid/fra setup so it's not exactly a stock to stock comparison. Would be fun to find out but unless we get someone else to drive it it's just not going to be fair. Might be fun for youtube propaganda wars though. lol

Well... looks like this race won't happen before new mods go in.
Car was making some lifter noises so I decided to take care of it before something bad happens.
LS6 Cam swap happening in a couple of weeks. Parts should be on the way Monday. Won't be a massive gain (20~25rwhp maybe?) but I shouldn't have any big chance in mpg or drivability this way. Going to be an entirely new car after this.
