TBSS Vs Challenger RT

TBSS Vs Challenger RT
I've been goofing around on the TBSS forums lately trying to learn something, and came across this thread. I posted in it, but its like my post didn't phase anyone. Basically, every TBSS owner in their S/S section is talking about how slow the R/T is, which I know its no rocket, but neither is the TBSS. IMO, it would be a very close race, with the R/T pulling up top, but I wanted to get ya'lls opinions. I was under the impression that they could run high 13s pretty easily. Check out the thread below.... I'm afraid I've got some fanbois on my hands

That 600 vs Balt thing was out there, but yea, a TBSS walking an SRT-8 while hauling 3 people on top of that.... that's pretty damn ridiculous too, lol. These TrailBlazers start life being low 14 second machines, with an occasional high 13, about like the 2 valve GTs. Idk, maybe sitting up higher is giving these guys a seat of the pants feel of being faster than they are.

Yeah best of luck with other forums... I had to bail from some of the 5th gen forums because I couldn't handle the 'I beat a lamborghini with my 2010 Camaro SS' and the 100 other fanbois stroking his disillusions after it.
An R/T should be a decent race but should start to pull up top. Really would come down to the launch. I believe the latest generation maybe quicker than memory is serving (mid 13s?) either way I don't see a TBSS stock vs stock raping an R/T. Should be a pretty good race IMO.

I don't know why they would match up against a Chally. An SRT8 Grand Cherokee would be a more appropriate comparison. But, most TBSS's would lose without some serious mods. The best comparison would be a GC with the 5.7L Hemi. Most of those run low 14's with an intake and tune. Is your TBSS AWD?

The R/T is very comparable to a 3v s197. The best posted stock times of those two cars are nearly identical and I believe the averages are probably quite close as well.
I think the TBSS would have it's hands full against an R/T.

Depends on which Challenger to be honest... when the R/T challengers first came out they carried 3.73 final drive ratios with the 18" wheels and a 3.92 gear ratior with the 20" wheels... under some applied mathematics the 3.73's with a 18" wheels and a better gear ratio to get up and go under given unsprung weight... probably won't make a HUGE difference, but the 3.3% better gear ratio will help off the line, which is where these cars need the improvement
most people opt for the 20" wheel package, sell off the wheels and fit 17"s to the thing with drag radials in the back... this wakes the car up something fierce with it's E.T.

SRT8 Grand Cherokee is a low 13second /high 12 (glory pass) ... Stock TBSS have been mid 13s (TonyGXP went 13.49.. NJ track of course) with others filling the 13.5~13.9 range. Unless you buy into the Challanger R/T running 12s bone stock bit (because the driver was pro of course) then I can't see an RT compared to an SRT8 vehicle of any kind.

Jhawk, mine is 2wd.
Yea, an SRT-8 GC will flat hand it to my TBSS, regardless of me being tuned or not, no way around it. They are geared way low and for whatever reasons, just do more with what they've got. An RT Chally and my tuned TBSS would be an alright match up to a point, but even then I'm 99% sure the RT would creep away up top as long as the driver was OK.
Morbid makes a good point. Those heavy 20s look amazing and help out with the handling, but they are still anchors and kill straight line acceleration. My TBSS is no different... guys are running low 13s with just a 17" wheel swap. They run the LT Trailblazer wheels with DRs and knock off damn near a full second. Sprung weight is one thing, unsprung weight is a whole different issue.
