Default Stall auto 2000 GT

Just curious what you guys think I could run in the 1/8 mile and even the 1/4 mile. We don't have a 1/4 mile near so it will be the 1/8 mile that I go to soon.

2000 GT mods:
-Stall auto
-Shift kit
-4.10
-UCA
-LCA
-Tubular front suspension
-Strange 10 way struts
-LTs, O/R H, Magnaflow
-Nitto 555Rs on 16" V6 wheels

CTgreddy ran an 8.4 in the 1/8 with less gearing and less mods. I was thinking maybe 8.2-8.3 is very possible. What do you guys think? I'm just waiting for my struts to come in then I will get an alignment and will be going to the track.

Those Nittos of yours are 555Rs, right? I'm assuming they are since they are on 16s. You should be able to run at least what Greddy did, but in theory you should touch an 8.2. No idea about the 1/4, but if I had to guess I would say low 13s, maybe a high 12.

I would be happy with an 8.2. That's right around what I was thinking I could run if I could get a decent launch.

I though he had some small under the hood mods like intake/plenum/TB...

not that they'll make much of a difference..

I'd guess 8.4's and 8.5's all day with something maybe a little better stuck in there as a Christmas gift.

Be interesting to see how much intake, plenum and TB would make. If it makes a difference I have a K&N filter lol

Drop in filters make a difference. I don't bother with intakes, throttle bodies, or plenums unless they are proven, and very rarely are they worth a damn on NA engines. The 3V S197 definitely likes a CAI accompanied by a tune, but my vehicle for example doesn't respond to them all that much, nor did my supercharged Balt... not $300 worth anyway (peak gains FTL). Drop in KN filters are no doubt an improvement over paper filters, and for the cost they are a good cheap mod.

If you swapped your intake, plenum, and TB, you might see a tenth WITH some tweeks in your tune. It would be almost impossible to tell for sure what it picks though considering no 2 passes are ever identical and the gains would be so minimal. I think you could see a solid tenth however, on average... if tuned for it.

I was thinking about taking my car and getting it tuned. But I don't know if I would see enough of a gain, especially a $300 gain.

I'm pretty happy where my car is now. Hopefully it will run good times.
