i came across this video on youtube. has quite a few races in it, alot with a stock zr1 and some honda hatchback making good horsepower. but the race i'm calling bs on is the very first one. go to 3:40 and skip all the intro stuff to see the race. its between an 05-09 gt with bbk cai/tune, catback and pullies vs a stock e46 m3 and a "stock" 335i. i'm calling bull on the 335i being stock. i thought a tuned s197 would be able to take out a stock 335i. does anybody else here think the owner is giving all the true details about his car?

I agree with you. I think that should be an extremely close race with all three cars involved. No way a stock 335 pulls the E46 M3 or the modded 3v like that. Looked like it was most likely tuned. To pull like that, you'd have to have at least 50rwhp on the other two cars.

thats exactly what i thought too, i've seen vids of stock 335i's getting pulled on pretty handedly by intake/tune s197 gt's. that thing must've had an intake and some sort of tune because he put several cars on the m3 and gt. i'm guessing maybe a juicebox stage 1 or 2 tune. make anywhere from 30-80 rwhp with just a plug and go.

what year 335? the e92 or e90 series 3 will pull on an e46.

between 07-10 i guess you could say. i've heard of them being able to pull on the e46 at higher altitudes because of the turbo vs n/a comparison, but definitely not that much at sea level. this video was filmed in houston i found out and we're right at sea level. turns out this 335i had an intake and tune, there was another video of this 335i running a c5 vette and it actually listed the mods this time.

yeah but watch the video, it's not like the 335 is just pulling away... it's literally sprinting away on the top end like it has over 100WHP on the other two... that is a pretty dirty pull IMO

My buddy and BMW freak is doing up a 335Xi right now. It ran 12.7 @110 with a hurt set of turbos and a tune along with a few other bolt ons. The car in the video looks to be in the same boat as my buddy. I should have videos of his 335 soon getting new track numbers on his new bigger turbo set-up with meth. I'm thinking he should be high 11 low 12s with about a 116-118 trap.
