Default me vs 04 cobra

Well I am going to race him as soon as I can, hopefully this week. I was curious how well would I fair in this race. He has borola exhaust and a diablo tune, I think that's it. Just met this dude, seems cool as hell and we are gonna set this up soon. so what do you all think?

Also I don't have any numbers for my set up, however brenspeed said I should have 420 to the wheels on a nice cool day and that I was damn near 500 hp. I am gonna guess he has 440-460 maybe?

i think you'll get him. with just a catback and a tune I dont even know if he'll be over 400whp. i believe the 460whp area is what you get with a midpipe/catback, intake, pulley, and tune. the pulley helps the most. If he's got a smaller pulley i think he'll pull you. if not, then it should be a good race.

Same here, you should inch away. He needs to pulley down as stated. I could see him getting an intial jump on you, but then he ought to fall back. Good luck man, let us know the outcome.

Are you non-intercooled? Better make it count the first time, after that you'll be running hot.

Yea non intercooled for now. I am sure he has the stock pulley still. I will let you all know how it goes, hopefully it happens soon. I was thinking that with the vortech my topend should be better then his.

He'll have a flat curve in his favor though. Should be a good one.

I say you got him... there are nothing but pro's in your favor from where I'm sitting

#1 you more than likely make more power even without the intercooler

#2 your power doesn't start hitting hard until 3K RPM... giving you an easier time to hook AND THEN hit boost

#3 if you decide to go from a roll you have more power as the RPM's go up whereas his power will taper off

#4 you weigh less (people overlook the fact that while it's a new edge body style lugging that IRS around puts the car @ close to 3,700-3,800lbs)

#5 his IRS will wheelhop and spin due to his torque rich power band off the line (especially on stock tires and not even a polyurethane bushing to speak of)

#6 you have a setup SURROUNDING your aftermarket supercharger, you had a certain setup in mind and you built your car to achieve what you wanted, it's always better to start from scratch and make your car purpose built then buying a from the factory rig IMO (that's not to say you can take a terminator and build what you want easier but in this scenario it's a stock factory car that will more than likely be harder to control)

that's just my breakdown... but like anything it depends on both drivers

one request though, do ask him to pop his hood and snap a pic of the pulley and post it here if you can... curious as to if he's one of those "hide and seek" racers, that's if he did not put the cover back on anyways

Guy I know had the same mods tune and a cat back and it put down 412 on a dynojet, and I'm with everyone else if it's a stock pulley you got this one covered.
