a good friend's dad just got a 2011 audi s4 with a manual transmission. this is the new model with the supercharged v6 with 333 hp and 325 lb/ft of torque. he knows what i've had done to my car and he wants to test them out. do i stand a chance? they're awd so i have a feeling he'll take me off the line but how about from a roll? we're going to do a couple of 40 rolls. he said once it gets into its stride it'll pull.

Should be a pretty close race. You 2 are probably very similar in wheel horsepower and your car should weigh less.

In short, yes, you stand a chance.

You may have a slight weight advantage. It's going to come down to the launch and the shifting(no under or over reving). If your really want to beat him, spend about 20 minutes removing some weight (passenger seat, spare, jack, etc.) Also, make sure your not hindering performance with simple stuff like under inflated tires and a restricted fuel filter..

they're actually a little faster than the old V8 S4's were. seems to be that they run in the 13.4-12.9 range trapping anywhere from 106-108mph.

they're rated 333bhp and 325btq. the thing is, they're dynoing anywhere from 305awhp-335awhp from what i've found. so you'll have your hands full with him from a roll.

They're all wheel drive so i'd stick to roll races.

+1 to roll race, and even then you might get walked if you don't shift pretty good.


Magazine numbers seems to be around a 13.5 1/4 mile which is what your mustang should be around.

alright cool, we're supposed to set something up next week when his dad gets back in town. i think it'll be a close one. they do trap pretty high from what i read. i saw a video of one racing an e46 m3 and this is all i have to compare it to since i pulled the e46 when i raced one.

that was with the 7-speed auto and it went straight from 2nd gear to 4th gear. it would have pulled a lot harder had it hit 3rd.
