Default How much rwhp to hit 11s with turbo???

How much rwhp would a person need to make to hit high 11s consistently with a single 70mm? Car in question is an 01 GT, 4r70w and let's say cutting 1.8 60' times.

Also, with a turbo what WG spring would you need to hit that power level through the auto?

You'll need about 350 minamum at the wheels. Not sure about the spring question but with a 70MM turbo you should hit 11s with no problem @ 12PSI.

(If on lower boost) Just use a 7psi spring and use a boost controller to up it to what you want. You can always go higher than your spring pressure, but never lower.

I don't know how much lighter your car is than the newer models but a couple of guys with over 400 at the wheels in the 05-09 models are still not hitting 11's. I've never driven a turbo mustang but 808muscle has about 425whp with a supercharger and his best is 12.2 on ET streets.

you're gonna need about 400whp imo. to get there on a turbo you wont need 12psi, prolly more along the lines of 9/10 with an intercooler and stock h/c/i.

Need to know a little more about the car and how its getting the power down. Stalll, gear, tires? Weight reduction? With a good stall and a tire, and 3.73-4.10s it could be done easily on 350-370 rwhp. Wirh weight reduction, even less power would be needed..

I agree. I was assuming 3400 pounds with driver. But alot can be done with the right suspension & tires. I doubt he'll hit 11s with just 350 WHP alone.

Stock stall, 3.27s, just DRs (hence why I said assuming 1.8 60'), no weight reduction other than tubular front suspension, 175# driver.

if you're hitting 1.8 60s then then I don't think 350-400 would be a bad guess.

The question is can your current suspension/tire/gear setup cut 1.8 60s with 350-400whp.

This^^^

And with that turbo and no stall, it's basically going to be leaving on near stock power and a 3.27 gear. No bueno, IMO. I don't see a 1.8 happening. Gotta get that turbo going or either gear it. I think with a tire, 3.73 and 4k stall, it would be a beast off the line. As it sits, 1.9 to 2.1 60s all day.
