Lets talk about 'em. My buddy at works trying to find a nice one to pick up. due to his price range it's gonna be around an '04, which i believe are the slower ones correct? it'll be a 6sp, just curious what they should run stock, and I'm sure he'd get a catback, intake, and possibly a tune for it somewhat quickly, how much power do those pick up? I've kinda been talking some trash to him about it already since i know i've heard that they're pretty slow, will my 13.2 car be able to take him alright after he does some mods?

they run low 14s stock last I saw. From what i've seen it's pretty hard to pull power out of them with simple bolt-on stuff. Most people that actually want to make them fast just supercharge them. honestly if he has the money to do all that stuff at once he should be pretty close to just being able to supercharge it and run 12s.

I'm not a fan of the early 350Z's. Anything you have to throw twin turbos at to run a low 12 doesn't do it for me. But they are a good looking car and are decent handlers with a few suspension mods. You'll smoke him with the mods you mentioned.

If you're looking for something to go fast I would defiantly get a 300zx though. I think the 300 is better than the 350 in almost every way. But the 350 is still a good looking sports car that is fun to drive. Not a bad car, just not really fast.

They run lower 14s. Bolt ons do nothing for them, literally. He would be much better off taking his mod money and applying it towards an 07-08 350Z with the HR motor instead. At least then he will be capable of mid 13s.

be careful of the synchro issues with the 6 speeds.
Two of my best friends have these cars (03 350z and an 03 G35coupe). The G35 is literally impossible to shift without barking EVERY gear. Huge problem with the earlier 6 speeds.
