2012 Dodge Chally (392)
Well gents, just received the cams (thxs ctgreedy) and rods this week. Finally she's starting to come together. A really good friend of mine from work just bought a 2012 Dodge Challenger equipped with the 392 hemi. His car is compeltely stock. Well you guessed it.. The sh** talking has begun. So what do you guys think? Once I get the stang back next month with all the upgrades (pls see sig) will it be a good race. He wants to do a dig up to about 110 and a roll race (35-110). Which will I fair better in?? Have anyone of you guys ever raced one???

you're gonna have more power and way less weight. i figure with the cams and a 10lbs or so of boost you'll see 450 to the wheels. the challengers put down what 400 area if they're rated at 470? so you'll have a decent amount of hp on him, as well as 500+ less pounds. AND i dont see that big ugly **** being any sort of aerodynamic.
Is it an auto or manual? i've heard the auto's are faster actually. i'm gonna say from a dig if he's auto he'll pull a car or two on you but by 110 you'll regain your ground and put 2 cars on him. from a roll, i'm thinking you by 3 cars.

I think about as fast as they go stock is mid 12s, saw a youtube video of a 12.4@114. you should have no problem. a bolt on one with a stall, drag radials, cai, and exhaust went 11.9@114
they weigh 4257lbs.
From forum experience though you can't trust any of these guys with their "stock" runs though... even the 5.0 guys have been fudging stock, like a tune and tires still stock engine right? and the 392 11.9 guy likes to claim "stock ecu calibration" that's because it's locked and you can't tune them.

Go from a roll and show him your taillights. The auto 392s CAN run in the 12.20 range at around 110-112 mph stock with a GOOD driver, but you should have that covered by a few mph. Only chance he will have is if you run from a stop and you blow the tires off and cant catch him by 110mph.
