I'm thinking about getting the mustang onto a nice track, Which is Barbers here in Bama.

I'm wondering if anyone on here goes there, or knows of a group I can join to get in on a track day? I'm ignorant to all processes of this...

Does anything special have to be done to crawl on there and turn some laps for fun?

Ive done the June event with the Porsche club for the last couple of years. If you have a club registration account you can usually sign up through there.

So you have taken your mustang onto the track with a Porsche club? I know it takes a larger group to make something like this happen?

There is a LOT of info out there for track day events. This one:

...has a lot of links to clubs that run track day events. I primarily run with TrackDaze, but it's due to the location (VA). The link also has pointers for beginners, too. Everything from vehicle prep to personal safety.

Usually, clubs dedicated to specific makes (ie., Porsche, BMW, etc) will let non-members with other makes run with them. For multiple reasons, too, but I don't worry about that stuff: I just want to get out there!
