He got the car for $1500 with a little damage on the front so he got a bra to cover the cracks haha. He's planning on getting a tune ASAP. The car isn't throwing any codes which confuses me.
It's OBD1, we used to mod these cars all the time without tuning. Cam would throw some codes but you didn't have the emissions crap tossing codes like the obd2 cars do. Hell my 95 ran for weeks on stock tune and no SES lights with full exhaust and the cc306 cam in it.

How were the gains without tuning? Just wondering if maybe the OBD-1 PCM in the older LT1 has a broader window of correction, preventing as many codes.

I never got to run it at the track... I did do my own tuning via lt1edit so I don't know if it was ever running optimally or not but I honestly believe it would have kicked the crap out of my ls1.
He's fine, but the car will need at least 2 tires, 2 rims, front and rear bumper covers and a fender. Our dad and him haven't checked out the suspension yet either so there could be more damage
