Brother's new car- 94 Firebird
My little brother got a 94 Firebird. Its a auto lt1, has headers/ full exhaust, K&N, bigger MAF and TB, and a shift kit. It has 2.73s as far as I can figure. Stock stall I'm pretty sure.
He's planning to take it to the track next weekend, what should he expect? I'm thinking mid 13s? How much is he leaving on the table with the 2.73s?

I'm not sure how much those mods are helping him without a tune. I'm thinking it will be in the 13.8-14.0 range.
Its a low 13 second car with a tune and 3.73s. High 12 if he adds some DRs to that combo.

Id say there is some 13.7-13.8 in there.
Does the shifter have 1, 2, 3, D or L, 3, D? The shifter with L has 2.73's and the other with 1, 2, 3 has 3.23's stock. Hope that helps if you didn't already know bud

My wife had a 96 2.73 Z28 and bone stock during the summer I ran a 14.2 @ 98mph.. If I remember right the DA correct was 14.0x... (My 3.23 geared 95 auto went 14.1 @ 97mph - DA corrected 13.94 so the gears don't hurt as much as people think) with said mods a 2.73 gear car should be able to hit some mid 13s pretty easy IMHO. Then again I remember being caught up in LT1 craze back then so I know some guys who were hitting 12s with basic bolt ons and tire on a pretty regular basis.

I just don't see all those mods doing a whole hell of a lot (if not hurting) without tuning for them. I'm honestly surprised its not really acting up with that bigger MAF. I'm not saying its not picking up any HP from those headers, etc...but I doubt its more than a few HP under the stock parameters. If anything, its probably running pig rich.
