I'm not too worried about it to be honest. Let's face it, I'd be happy to even be mentioned in the same breath as a 70,000 dollar sports car.
I think for what it is (a heavy, unruly four seater) the GT500s from '07 up have performed quite well for their $:Performance ratio.
Sure, there are always quicker cars, but it's not the only reason I bought the car. If anything, I've got a good feeling the car will never see a street race.

That's what I was factoring in. With the weight difference, and the 427 making 490rwhp, the 13' will be around the 600 mark give or take. So the extra hp vs weight will make it interesting. That's the only thing I hate about my car.. the weight. Can get craploads of power out of them on stock internals... but that weight... that damned weight

stick to the dyno numbers if you want, but dyno's don't win races.
I agree with you here. I believe a GT500 would be a much better "everyday" car that also is fast as hell, then a vette is, but as far as all out performance... The vette is the obvious winner.

Meh, I know what you are saying, and I am not just about dyno numbers. But HP does win races. Pwer to weight ratio, traction, and driver mod.
From a roll race, driver mod has less to do with it, and it comes down to which car has the better power/weight ratio to get it moving quicker. Simple physics.
A GT500 vs a Z06 on average take approx 120rwhp range more than the Z06 to be able to come out ahead. That is why I said what I said about the 490rwhp. The 13' will dyno stock in the +120rwhp range to the Vette. Power/weight.

I just realized I hadn't visited the Street/Strip section of this forum in quite a while. Dang, this was an enjoyable thread! It really makes me envious that there isn't a street scene like this in the area where I live. Totally Jealous!!
Stone, looks like you have your hot rod dialed in pretty well. Nice!!!

Thanks man! It's a good track car, just wish it pulled a bit harder up top. There's a pretty strong street scene near you in Charlotte. Check out Ls1tech and hpjunkies, lots of guys in your area on those forums! Although you're pretty much out of 99.999% of everyone's league, lol!
Thanks for the info on the forums, I will have to check them out. There is not a lot of street action around Asheville anymore, so I wouldn't mind to venture a little further out to have some fun. The track I usually go to has really gone down hill too, so not a lot of fun there either... most of the time end up making solo passes or line up with a full blown race car. Not a lot of fun.
