Buddy just bought a 06 6.0 6 speed gto stock with mufflers and a cai, what will it take for me to get him from a roll?
My car has off road x pipe, muffler deletes, long tubes, frpp hotrod cams, c&l cai, underdrive pulleys, twin 62 mm throttle body, and a short throw shifter


I'm not worried about dig racing as I can launch 10x better than him lol

Depends on the start and end speeds.

From 40, you should have the advantage at the start with your mods and lighter weight. Lower gears(3.73, 4.10) will increase your advantage.
But he'll probably start closing the gap as the speed increases due to his higher hp, aerodynamics, and 6 speed tranny.
I place my $ on you up to 100. It's a tossup after that.

From 60, his 6 speed tranny and aerodynamics will lessen your lighter weight, mods, and lower gears(if your car has them) advantage at the start, which will help him to more quickly close any gap you have gained, and possibly pass you before 100.

If you come out on the losing end in either scenario, then CMDP's and an intake manifold will make the outcome closer.
If that's not enough, then P&P the heads.
If still NG, FI is the only solution.

Any times out of your car? He is only a 108~110 trapping car and with the mods you listed on your car I feel like you should be able to win no matter what here.

I think you got him covered all day from any speed. Goat needs some longtubes and a tune to even that run back out.

To the OP,

The below vid shows a rolling race between an 07 GT and an LS2 GTO. Their mods are similar to the mods on your car and your friend's car with the exception of no cams and UDP's for the GT in the vid, and no mufflers for the GTO.
Considering how the GTO initially pulls slowly on the GT in the vid and that your car has an additional 30 hp(+/-) with cams and UDP's, you'll probably have your friend covered up to 100 or so. But seeing how the GTO in the vid pulls away quicker at higher speeds, your friend may be able to close the gap and possibly pull away if the top speed exceeds 100 assuming both of you have good driver mods.

I've just heard so many story's about ls2 cars destroying 3v cars wasn't sure if it would pan out even with my mods but I'll f

A simply bolt on 3v would have a tough time I think... but you have cams... I think this changes things.
