I have a 87 Bama tune. So slightly less hp. I have to put premium in my BMW and didn't want to put it in both cars, so that's why the 87 tune. I have nitto invos but still spin a lot from a dig.

I believe the 08's with Tune, CAI & Exhaust are putting down about 300rwhp (with 93octane) I thought you were in a newer GT so that being said

so lets compare '08 GT vs 12 WRX (non STI)..

MUSTANG: Assuming 93 Bama Tune, CAI & Axleback (estimated)
HP = 290-310
TQ = 300-320
WT = 3500 (not including driver)
DT = RWD

IMPREZA WRX: Assuming 2.5L Turbo Tune, CAI & Catback (estimated)
HP = 290-310
TQ = 280-300
WT = 3200 (not including driver)
DT = AWD

Assuming my estimates are near actual numbers you guys are basically putting down the same power, assuming you guys (drivers) are about the same weight he's lighter and AWD.. turbo launches & AWD he's gonna take you based on the estimates..

Granted I'm assuming he is running near stock PSI +/- 2-3 PSI for the estimates outta the turbos and not tuned for 20+PSI which would just make the him pull even harder!
Your way high on your numbers, I know a local with a '13 WRX with intake, cat back and PRO tuned @20psi. We did a few highway pulls, I was driving my old Mazdaspeed3 with Intake, cat/muffler delete and tuned @20psi. Which compared to other Speed3's with similar mods usually gets about 275-285whp. This run here was him getting the jump, while i'm in to low of an rpm, and having a 150lb passenger. My car is 3180 without me, or the passenger, and once I got rolling I had no problem pulling cars on him.

And the new wrx dyno close to the same as the sti, they actually have faster 0-60 and 1/4 times due to gearing, 5spd in the wrx, whereas the STI is a 6spd.

I have played around with a few lightly modded 3v's, and they put up a much better fight than the wrx did, so I personally think OP needs driver mod(no offense op) or his buddy has a mod or two he is not mentioning.

'12 WRX's should run 13.7's stock.

They're up to 265hp which is pretty strong compared to the older models (220-245hp)

they also have bigger intercoolers and turbos.

Cobb tune and other little mods ( downpipe, cat delete ) and they can run 12.6-12.7's no problem. They look and sound great as well. I really like those cars.

0-60 is in the 4.5 range..
