Really depends on the cam and how good the tune is, but if its something like a mid-sized cam like a 224/224 .58 114lsa whatever, then with the slicks and skinnies he could definitely be well into the 11s. My mods/ET are in my sig. Like Greddy said, if I had some slicks/skinnies and could actually launch above idle, then I'd be able to run low 11s no problem. I'm basically leaving off idle and rolling into it to get what I got. Anyway, yea your buddy could pull it off if everything was set-up and tuned right.

LMAO... that was nice and subtle. Loved it

This... not knowing the cam here it makes it almost pointless to guess. With my weak *** cam though I am shooting for low 12s on street tires (guessing around 12.3 @ 115 right now)... when the car only had the cam and a lid (stock tune) I went 12.8 @ 110 on a 2.0 60ft (156K on the block and race weight was 3600lbs). The 6K redline held me back a lot and with the current mods and a 6800 limiter I expect it to do much better.

I have the following mods (I have some internal stuff from the fresh short block not typically mentioned but full disclosure...) ...
TMS L33 Shortblock (I have ~12K on it) with stock LS1 spec
LS6 Cam
LS6 Springs
LS7 Lifters
LS7 Clutch
Melling Oil Pump (High Pressure)
Hardened Trick Flow pushrods
BBK 1 3/4 Longtubes
MTI Lid
HP Tuners (Tuned)

The weight of the car comes into play as well as conditions/track... I'm in the 3370 range with a full tank of gas now (add me and race weight is a fat 3530lbs) and Cordova is pretty crazy when the weather cooperates. (A friend went 12.7 @ 110 in a bone stock 5th Gen SS last fall). I could get this setup into the high 11s with DRs and the rest of the bolt ons pretty easy. If someone knows what they are doing a donkey dick cam and sticky tires will have no issue pulling mid 11s or better. Weight reduction and 10s are possible... I almost don't want to bring it up but...

Cam Only LS1 9.986 @132.17 *current record*
2900 raceweight, stock 241 heads (2001+ motor), TH350 Trans, 12 Bolt (this is the reason people hate 'cam only' but thats the term)

He said he would launch it at 6k. He said more than once he got the front tires off the ground.

I guess it should be able to lift a tire assuming he is dumb enough to launch at 6k and his rear stayed in one piece. Not a smart move, but possible. Guy sounds like a bit of a bull ****ter though.

Yep. On a stock 10 bolt? Not a chance it would live more than once. Lol
