Yea I'm not too much yet. I have my toque boxe plates bolted in last year so that should hold me over for a while.

Yeah being auto it's not gonna be terrible on the body. I didn't get subframes on my old car for quite a long time.

Sorry was so disgusted all weekend with my own car I skipped over your thread.... as mentioned do converter and trans cooler. Its really not that much work and once its out of the way you will love it. I had simple bolt ons with my old LT1 car and the converter was probably the best mod I could have done for it. Night and day difference.... and not dealing with changes later on down the road is nice too. Enjoy the car for a while.

Anyone ever run a deep pan on a 4r70w ? I see pa offeres one for the aod and the 4r70w but vendors list them as being aod or 4r70w. Are they a universal fit? Thought it was strange pa offerers two. Also any idea if id need a filter extension? And lastly the i assume the stick would still read the same ?

tcstanger has the b&m on his. Used the stock filter and dipstick, just adds more capacity. At your level you prolly dont need it. Also one thing to look into if you do the converter, is that the 4r70 has one known problem when you rev it high, it's a retaining ring that fails if you consistently shift over 6k(this is why the auto mach's have a lower rev limiter then the manuals, or that's what the rumors are anyways lol). You can get a replacement ring for it for very cheap, and all you have to do is pull the pump off when you take the trans out and it's right there. I'd suggest doing that, along with a j-mod if you dont have that done yet.

Edit:

A link to what I was referring to, and a link to the part.

I had mentioned the retainer to lidio during my tune and he says hes never seen one fail and took his over 6000 rpm all the time. I've also been taking mine over 6k for a few years (knock on wood)

I've also never heard of one fail lol. just figured for the 10 bucks and hour of labor it's worth the safety. I should ask about this actually, Jerry, the guy who created the j-mod, comes into my work all the time as he's good friends with the boss man and does a lot of testing on our dyno's. since he seems to be the guy for 4r70's maybe I'll have to ask him about it.

My buddys 04 cop car has the j mod. Its obnoxious. Lidios mod isnt quite as harsh he said.

Chris @ circle d just got back to me. Hes suggested one of their 245mm (9 3/4") multi disk converters with a 3500 stall.

circle d makes arguably the best converter for mod cars. I had great luck with my dirty dog but I'd prolly go with circle d if I ever got into another auto car.
