Default G8 made some very nice gains today.

Well after vector dicked him my buddy with the G8 went to livernois and i rode along with since i dont work Wednesdays. It took 6 hours to get done. vector locked his pcm and he said it took 3 hours to straighten that out.

But he made 375/387 which is sweet, gained 37hp from what he was.

He had me by half a car from our last dig. rematch soon as i want to know where i stand, nothing has changed for me aside from the svt focus pump i put in on sunday. I'm thinking he should have bottom 13s for sure by now.

Only change to the G8 was a different CAI than the one he had.

Vector needs to be dick slapped for that behavior.

That G8 is doing some work. Would give me one hell of a run for my money. Cool to know about those cars they have one of the best front ends for a 4 door on the road IMO.

Full mod list? I know you guys just threw on exhaust from front to back.

Kooks full exhaust and Roto fab cold air intake. Not too bad. It had a volant cold air on it during the base pull.

He should be well into the 12s, man. I was wondering how in the world he was where he was..this explains a lot. I think you'll be surprised by the results of you next run with him (once ya'll get hooked up and moving). There's the 37 hp gain, but then there's TM, transmission adjustments, etc that he will benefit from as well.

Yea, vector had apparently pulled torque Managment all together and livernois put it back and Made adjustments. Honestly though it seems to drive better and shifts quite firm still.I expect rematch this weekend. Motor and nitrous. I need to see where I stand to give me a good idea of what I gain. Might try and get the g8 to the track soon I know he's curious what it'll run but he's never ran before so he'll have some improvement to make I'm sure.

Would the GXP GT or whatever it is called make better gains from a swap like this?

The GXP G8 got an LS3 instead of an L76. Both the LS3 and L76 are based on the 6.0L LS2.

Both the LS3 and L76 got cylinder heads from the L92. The difference is that the L76 got solid metal valves along with GM's version of engine braking. The LS3 got gas filled hollow valves with no engine braking. The LS3 spins to 6600 RPMS and the L76 spins to 6000RPMs bc of the valve difference.

The LS3 got bumped up to 6.2L and the L76 stayed at 6.0L. Compression is 10.7:1 on the LS3 and 10.4:1 on the L76 because of this.

So basically other than the LS3 stretching the RPMs out further the main difference is the stock horsepower difference between the two....which is about 70HP/40TQ.

If it was a Ford that means it would need another 4-6 PSI to catch up in horsepower. Quite a bit.

good gains tho! when it comes to ls stuff I dont think there's anyone out there that'll tune a car better. Both in numbers and in driveability.
