I have no top end speed

I just "raced" a 2010 camaro ss and gave him a good run but I do need to be able to keep up after 100 mph when it shifts again (didn't see the exact speed) I do know I need to replace a sensor for my trans but I need more top end and overall speed because I want to beat them

What are your mods? Whats your gear ratio? Your going to need to get serious about modding if you want to keep pulling on a SS. I own both and the 6.2 in the SS pulls pretty hard up top. Plus they have a much better transmission for high speed rolls.

I just want to stay about even with one.

we took off from about 35 the motor is stock and it needs a different trans I just found out because mine was smoking a little when I got home and started to make a bad sound and my new fluid is discolored the gears are also stock

but I do plan to build on it during winter to make it faster I need to know what I would have to do without getting the motor bored the trans will be changed by the end of summer and that should help a lot having a near new manual and I want at least 4.10 gears cause I'm a speed junkie and it would be a sunny day/weekend car after new paint

I can't imagine it was a good race. He should have completely destroyed you. Your giving up 200hp. You'll need a full list of Bolt ons plus heads, cam and intake to be able to be close to that car from a roll. Most likely youd still lose. Might want to start thinking about boost or nitrous.

Good luck with that one!.....:icon_lol:

NA., with our little motors (4.6 or push rod 5.0) is to try and beat them to a 120mph....After that the big LS is very dominant (1,2,or 3 and so on).
Having an auto myself, I know that 1st and 2nd gear are pretty awesome but 3rd and 4th (meh, not so much) and that's normally when the big LS will eat your lunch if you're modded (much sooner if your not).

Like Blue said, If you want to give them a top end run, you most likely will have to go F.I.

What are your mods right now?

If you gave an SS a good run from 35 to 100, you've got to have a couple substantial mods already.

EDIT: Sorry, never mind, I just reread the 3rd post. That SS was just playing with you. Your comparing a 12 second car to your 15 second car with a bad tranny. Your gonna have to spend some serious money to be comparable.

Are you sure he was racing you? Not only are you runing a stock motor with a bad tranny but it's also a vert which I would think would be a little heavier than a coupe. He should have put the smacked down on you preety hard.

Ummmmm......methinks it was like my last race where I didn't know I was racing. Your opponent was just driving briskly and you thought it was a race.

BlindGUYnAR 07-14-2014 10:38 AM

V6 SS clone would be my guess. No way you could keep up with a true SS.

bluebeastsrt 07-14-2014 04:44 PM

Even a V6 would be more then a hand full for a 95 Gt. I went 15.2@91 in the bone stock automatic GT in the sig pic. A manual might get a high 14 second run. The V6 Camaros are mid 14 autos, low 14s stick.
