Default 10s by next summer! Any recommendations?

Hey guys I've decided to start taking her to the track starting next summer. My last performance mods this year will be installing a Meth Injection kit, Upper Control Arms, rear seat delete and will be re-locating my battery to the trunk. Only suspension mods I have are Maxium Motorsports SFC's, Swar Bar, and MM LCA'S (Extreme). The Nittos are a very good tire but Im thinking about going with some MTs street/strip DRs. I'm I missing something? I really want start doing weight reduction mods but have no clue where to start. I figure with the Meth Injection I'll be right at around 550 to the wheels. Thxs brothers and input would be appreciated!

I'd do a set of full on slicks and skinnys up front. /You have the power to run 10s now if you row the gears right. I went 10.5 last year at about 460WHP but that was thru a stalled auto light weight car.

Blue I can run through the gears preey good. It's amazing how a good tire makes a world of differnce. I can remember you guys always talking about tires and weight reduction. Wish I'd listened to you all years ago. As far as weight reduction where should I start? Also, can you guys give me the pros and cons of running Meth?

The pros to running meth is it cools the intake charge and you can increase your timing or run more boost. No down side with todays kits! With your car still seeing street duty. A tube K-member and A-arm will remove almost 100 pounds off the front of your car. Skinnys take a HUGE amount of rotating mass off the front of the car. Rear seat is worth about 40 pounds. The front seats are very easy to remove and then replace after a track visit. Just leave the passenger seat in the garage on track days. a lot of little things like floor mats, spare tire etc. all ad up.

+1 ^^^

I'm running Cobra Rs for the street and a set of Welds big and littles for the track. My Cobras weigh in at 40lbs per wheel. The skinny Welds weigh 11lbs per wheel and the backs weigh 20lbs each. Added up that's a difference of 98 lbs of ROTATING weight.

It's very noticeable.

Yep. I was running the Cobra wheel with 275s out back. That combo weighed 60 pounds per side. The 10.5 MT and a 9 inch weld prostars cut about 30 pounds per side. It's even bigger up front. That's where the real magic happens. This dragzine article explains it better than I can but the difference is night and day in how the car reacts off the line! Combine that with some adjustable shocks to get get all that weight to transfer to the rear. And it's very effective.

Thanks for the link...........Great read.

I never thought about the affect of where the rotational weight is. Near the center like an axle, or away from the center like a tire. Great info
