Default Which tuner

Hey Mike:
I saw where you posted on mustang forums.*

I have a 2006 and a 2007 mustang convertibles. Both v6

07 is perfect!
I just bought the 06 and changed the tranny fluid and filter. 93k miles. (mistake)

It seems to be slipping some and shifting little hard around 3000 rpm. Most time doing good. It does do a break stand while testing for slip.*

Any way. I want to see what product I should get to test the car and see how all the electronics are doing. One that will work on both cars and Set my tunes to stock, or I can play with other tunes. I was looking at the t1000.*

*I don't know any history on car. Hard to start sometimes, surges when put in park. After shift will surge.*

The fuel pump makes a rather loud noise when key turned on.*

Im hoping one of your tools will help diagnose the problem.*

Thanks.*

God Bless
Garland

Default What is a good tuner to use

I'm new to the forum. Never used one before.

Also never used a tuner. Been fortunate to never have to do one until now.

I have a 2006 and a 2007 mustang convertibles. Both V6.

My 06 I just purchased and am having surging an shifting issues. I think my fuel pump is making a noise too.

Any ideas on which tuner to get the will work on both cars and where can I find a affordable fuel pump for my 06.

I was thinking about the t1000 predator. Saw it on the Internet.

Thanks and God bless.

Not sure who Mike is but I'll offer what little I can.

The majority of people seem to prefer the SCT brand as in like a SCT X3 Powerflah #3000 or #3015. It can read any check engine light codes, clear the codes, upload custom tunes, datalog and record to see any possibly issues. They run about $380 a pop brand new. But the way most tuners is work is once you tune a car with a tuner, it's then vin locked to that car and wont work on another car for uploading a tune until you return the cars tune back to stock with the tuner.

1 tuner = 1 custom tune uploaded at a time.

Here is a link to American Muscle, they sell the SCT units and also offer free custom tunes for life program which is a good deal.

Hope that helps some! Let me know any other questions and I will try to help.

Also, one tuner will upload only one custom tune to a car but you can use it to read and clear check engine lights on both vehicles. If it's vin locked to another car, you can still use it as a tool to read codes, just cannot upload another tune to the other Mustang.

Far as parts, if you want OEM factory pieces, Tousley Ford usually gives members 10% over cost prices which is far better then going to your local dealership. Aftermarket, any autozone, advance auto, ect ect will carry or order what you need.

Awesome. Thanks. I'm going to check out sct x3. Sounds exactly what I need. Can't wait to try it out.
