Question beat by a h22 civic...i need a TUNE!!!

I raced a guy from work today and got fk'n riced....
(H22"prelude eng" 96 Civic HB, CAI, 68mmTb., headers, exhaust, dyno tune 175hp-136tq)

So we started from a 30mph roll & MASHED UM!!.........I JUMPED ON HIM through 2nd &3rd but as soon as i shifted to 4th(90mph) he pulled on me & by about a car length til the top of 4th! Does his civic have that much top-end power or is it the tune?

A friend has the diablo sport 93 tune on a stock 2000GT but it really only seems to pull harder in 3rd and thats about it.

What do u guys recommend as far as a tune with the light mods i have?

I would say definitely try and get a tune , if you had a tune with possibly 91-93 octane depending on your states gas then it would be a different story.
With that being said , I have many friends with civic and there B18 or B20 swaps and blah blah .. But the H22 is a strong motor for those cars and since he pull on you at high rpms doesn't surprise me because 90% of ricers love shifting at like 9000 rpms so those pull pretty decent at high rpms

does it have that much power in the top end? its a turbo........... its not gonna have the low end grunt(as shown by the tq #) but it is a high revving turbo. You gotta get a good lead on them and hope that they don't real you in on the big end.

if all the mods listed in your sig is all you have a tune will not buy you much yet. Spend that money on some no2 or something and then you will take him.

Where does it say the civic has a turbo?

Justino, a tune would help you a lot. Seems just that you were beating him where you had the torque advantage, your lack of horsepower is why you lost and he came around you. Those Hondas have minimal torque and thats why you started out by beating him...

Tell him to race you from a dig and watch that FWD , torque steering, no traction/torque having Honda not do so well...

So basically you street raced on public roads up to about 115 mph?

If you want a real race, tell the guy to meet you at a track and race for real.

I am pretty sure 68mmTB= 68 millimeter throttle body. Plus, if it was a turbo h22 it would make well over 175 to the wheels.....
