It's a 2010 v6 mustang 4.o with manual the only upgrade I have is a jlt cold air intake called am on Saturday the customer service rep was not helpful at all I tried to explain to him what was going on and he told me it might be a air leak some where so I found the leak and fixed it went out on a test drive didn't stall this time but the rpm was all over the place when I would go from 45 mph and drop the clutch to come to a stop the rpm would drop down to 600 rpm and the jump back up to 900rpm once I came to a stop . Didn't have a cel light stay on but it would come in an out and their was burning smell coming from the engine. Called customer service again and they were closed the guy didn't bother to tell me that they were closing soon . So I decided to return everything to stock once even loaded the stock tune after I did this the car feels like its getting to much air but the mass air flow sensor doesn't go off but the car feels like if I were running it in redline all the time .
Have you smoke tested the car to try and find it? If the car is back to stock and you are still having similar problems, it's definitely something related to the installation of the intake, whether an air-leak or sensor installation.

this definitely sounds like an air leak, a trick i use on my mustang is to spray carb cleaner around any place i feel might be leaking, say it was your head gasket, spray between the head and the block, if the rpms jump and hold for a second you found the problem. not sure how well this works with newer engines but it works great on older ones.

There are a few issues it could including you might have damaged the MAF sensor when putting it in the JLT intake.. A dealer will be the first to tell you that it's the cai in their process of elimination.. Go back through your installation..: see if you left off any plugs..or lines.. Because it's doing it with the stock tune shows that it's most likely not a tune issue...it's highly unlikely that the tuner corrupted your stock tune.. Are you sure you installed tune correctly?? I would take advantage of am's ofer to help you and get the issue solved..
AM is a very good company that stands behind what they sell.. Good luck with it

But this does sound like an issue on your side and not AM side be happy that they are bending over backwards for you.... they technically don't have too since it isn't their product that caused the issue...

Sounds like the MAF sensor is either not plugged in, installed into the intake incorrectly (upside down) or was damaged when the JLT was installed.
That would cause the Idle to jump everywhere and cause an overall crap running engine.

Just going to point this out because no one else has....
OP reinstalled his "stock" tune, but has a CAI on the car... OF COURSE it's not going to run right with that combination!
Probably best he just rids himself of the performance parts and stays stock
