Default Tuning Issue I am Confused

I have a 98GT auto and I have the SCT 9600. I recently had a diablo but returned my car to stock and sold it. Now I tuned my car with a strategy tune and my trans will shift from 1st to OD before 5mph??? And now every seal in the trans is leaking? Has anyone ever heard of the diablo leaving the tune on your car but saying it was back to stock? The trans guy says I have a serious pressure problem. Well this did not happen until I tuned it with the SCT. Now when I return it to stock with the sct, it shifts HARD!!!

My plans are to have SCT pull my tunes including my stock and see if it is corrupt. Just seeing if anyone besides me had this problem. Because the trans is out of the car getting rebuilt and I don't want to put it back to just leak again.

Are you running stock gear ratios or steeper gears like 4:10 or higher? That's the only thing I can think of that would make it shift that quick. And are you running a canned SCT tune or a custom one built around your PCM code?

Stock Gear 3.27, I can shift it manually, but I think that is what hosed my trans. It shifts like that only with the SCT tune?? I think I am putting a tune on a tune??? I am going to have them look at it today, maybe.

Are you running a custom tune or SCT written tune? If it's a custom tune, you can get whomever wrote it to adjust your shift points.

SCT Strategy tune.

I am going to pull the tunes and send them to SCT. They said if I have a corrupt stock tune that they would re-write it for free?? Fingers Crossed and a g-note later

The Predator definitely restored whatever it initially read out of your car.

Sounds more like the SCT tune may have messed things up. They often reload different stock files than what was in the car, that seems like the most likely scenario here.

have the car reflashed at a dealer before too much damage is done to the trans.

Thanks

Well ford verified the tune in my car is factory stock and matches my ecm code. I guess my trans is to blame on this one?? I will know more when the trans comes back from rebuild and he can tell me what happened in it?? Oh well, can't have your car and drive it too!!!!!

FWIW, Nobody at Ford, unless they have CMR or Advantage software, has the ability to verify calibration data.

The fact that your calibration IDs matched what was supposed to be there really only means the car is up to date, it does not by any means say the trans cal data is stock.

Well it was Sutton Ford. I went in the Dyno room with them, they pulled the files off of my SCT and then they opened it against a factory tune. I guess the good thing is the managers son had a 96 gt with auto and he had all of the tuning that they had done on it to compare.

Ahhah, good to know. At least they weren't blowing smoke

Comparing it to a different calibration may still show changes, you really need to see a stock file of the same calibration to properly compare them, but they know what they are doing, and should be able to tell.

Thanks
